White House Decries 'Democrat Hoax' as Further Epstein Estate Images Disclosed
House Democrats have published a new tranche of what they described as "troubling" pictures from the property of adjudicated sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, featuring among others Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and ex-UK prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The initial drop of 19 photographs—some of which have been seen before—along with another 70 unveiled later on Friday account for a tiny fraction of the approximately 100,000 images released to the House oversight committee, which is probing the conduct and connections of Epstein.
The shamed investor died by apparent suicide in a New York jail cell in 2019 after being charged with sex-trafficking crimes.
High-Profile Individuals in the Images
Among the high-profile individuals seen in the initial batch are celebrities including film director Woody Allen; Microsoft founder Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, creator of the Virgin empire.
Donald Trump is featured in three of the first nineteen images. In one, he is seen with six women, whose faces are blacked out.
Administration Statement
The White House responded to the release in a statement, accusing Democrats of selectively "choosing" the photographs for political purposes and to "try and create a false storyline."
"This Democratic fabrication against President Trump has been consistently disproven," a White House spokesperson stated, asserting that "the current government has done more for Epstein's victims than Democrats ever have by frequently urging disclosure, disclosing thousands of pages of documents, and demanding more inquiries into Epstein's Democratic associates."
Congressional Democrat Remarks
The photographs were disclosed lacking captions, but as stated by a California Democrat and senior member of the investigative panel, they elicit additional doubts about Epstein's links with affluent people.
"The moment has come to stop this White House concealment and secure justice to the victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his well-connected allies," he declared in a release.
The disclosure of these images occurs alongside the oversight committee pressing on with its investigation into the Epstein matter.
